General terms and conditions
These terms and conditions apply to products offered through the website of National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet unless otherwise indicated on the website, in writing, or by law. The term ‘products’ applies to admission tickets, season passes and gift cards as well as all types of physical products and other offerings including services, vouchers and the like. You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase products through the aquarium website. When ordering products on the website, you must confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. You also agree to accept the aquarium’s terms and conditions and policies, including copyright and privacy policies.
Ordering and delivery
Your order is placed online through National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet’s website. Ordering cannot be done by telephone unless explicitly stated for the individual product. When ordering, you provide Den Blå Planet with your name, email address and bank account information which are handled in accordance with the aquarium’s privacy policy. When the order has been placed and the payment has been made, you will receive an email with your order confirmation. Admission tickets, season passes and gift cards are sent electronically via email, usually within 10 minutes. National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet accepts no responsibility for errors or delays in delivery due to technical problems with the buyer or errors in the email address indicated by the buyer. The buyer bears the responsibility for any misuse of online tickets.
Special information concerning admission tickets, season passes and gift cards
The purchase of admission tickets, season passes and gift cards is in accordance with the Danish ‘Law on Certain Consumer Agreements, Section 17’ and is not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal. National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet draws particular attention to the fact that the buyer agrees to assume the risk that information such as name and email address are correct. Admission tickets are valid for one year after the date of purchase. Purchased season passes must be exchanged for personal access cards within one year of the date of purchase. Gift cards are valid for three years after the date of purchase. Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash, but can be used at Ticket Sales, the gift shop, and in the ØST café. It is your responsibility as the buyer to check whether the issued admission tickets, season passes or gift cards are correct and consistent with what you have ordered and paid for. In case of any discrepancy, please contact Den Blå Planet as soon as possible.
Other products
As a consumer, you are entitled to a 14-day right of withdrawal under Danish law when you shop on the internet. The right of withdrawal is applicable from the date of delivery. In order to utilise the right of withdrawal, purchased products must be returned to National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet within 14 days. Admission tickets, season passes and gift cards are sold in accordance with the Danish ‘Law on Certain Consumer Agreements, Section 17’ and are not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal.
Use of admission tickets and season passes (Blåt Kort and VIP Card)
With the purchase of an admission ticket, you can choose to print and bring your ticket, or you can use your smartphone to display and scan your admission ticket at the entrance. National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet accepts no responsibility for printing errors or tickets that do not scan on certain smartphones. If the admission ticket does not scan, it is the buyer’s responsibility to contact the aquarium staff. If the admission ticket has been correctly scanned at the entrance, it cannot be used again.
With the purchase of a season pass (Blue Card or VIP card), you can choose to print and bring your receipt, or you can use your smartphone to display and scan your receipt at the entrance. Den Blå Planet accepts no responsibility for printing errors or receipts that do not scan on certain smartphones. Purchased season passes must be exchanged for a personal Blue Card or VIP Card within 1 year of purchase, and you must contact Ticket Sales on your first visit to exchange the ticket for your personal access card.
Information about renewing season passes
When purchasing a season pass you agree to accept that National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet will contact you electronically about season pass expiration, renewal options, etc. prior to the expiry date. Your acceptance also includes other electronic contact regarding the use of the season pass and other forms of service information related to the season pass.
Limitation of liability and disclaimer
National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. In case of changes that may affect you significantly as a previous buyer, you will receive mail notification. The applicable conditions will always be available at the website. National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet accepts no responsibility for any typographical or printing errors on the website.
Payment and security
Payment can be made by debit card (Dankort), VISA/Dankort, Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, MasterCard Debit, Maestro, American Express and JCB.
Credit card transactions are made on a separate secure server with full encryption of all credit card information. National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet partners with DIBS to maintain a secure payment solution. This solution meets all NETS requirements for secure payment solutions. Your debit/credit card information will never be made available to other companies, organisations or third parties.
Service charge for foreign credit/debit cards: 3.25%
Service charge for Danish credit cards: 1.30%
Personal information/privacy policy
In order to recognise your information on your next visit to our webshop, a ‘cookie’ is placed on your computer. This ‘cookie’ is also used to track your shopping cart and for statistical purposes. Personal information is handled in strict confidence by National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet and the data provided is not disclosed to third parties.
Applicable law and disputes
Purchases made through the National Aquarium Denmark, Den Blå Planet website related to the above-mentioned terms are subject to Danish law. By your use of the website, you acknowledge that any dispute between you and Den Blå Planet concerning the above terms and conditions shall be settled by the Danish courts under Danish law.
